Do you know where most college students go for Spring Break? The answer is Fort Lauderdale, and this year is expected to be wilder than ever!
Going to Fort Lauderdale Spring Break has become almost as much of a rite of passage as going to college. For this one week, students from all over the country will descend on places such as Fort Lauderdale to blow off steam with some good old-fashioned fun. The best part is that the party doesn’t stop. Instead, it lasts about a month, thanks to the various Spring Break times from various schools.
Fort Lauderdale Beach Spring Break Events
There are many fantastic opportunities to cut loose at Fort Lauderdale, including the many beaches. And virtually everybody wants to have a Spring Break beach party!
Hit the Beaches
With 24 miles of sandy shores, the Greater Fort Lauderdale area offers all the beach bumming you could ever want. Here you can relax in the sand, take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean, play beach volleyball, or join tons of your peers in general revelry. Beaches worth exploring include:
- Deerfield Beach – Known for its access to water sports and its 1,000-foot fishing pier.
- Hillsboro Beach – This beach welcomes the quieter crowd to view sea turtle nests and the historic lighthouse.
- Pompano Beach – If you like to snorkel or scuba dive, Pompano is a paradise. There are even 18 shipwrecks located not too far from here.
- Lauderdale–By-The-Sea – Live musical performances are common here, and you can also scuba dive or snorkel to some shipwrecks.
- Fort Lauderdale Beach – Fine dining and delicious wine are easy to find here. For those who want to explore the ocean, you can go on a yacht tour or paddleboard.
- Dania Beach – Get away from the hustle and bustle associated with Spring Break by visiting Dania Beach.
- Hollywood Beach – Do you love your dog too much to leave him at home? Head to Hollywood and check out the dog beach!
- Hallandale Beach – Choose South City for volleyball or North City to sit right next to the ocean.
Hot Tub Boat Tour
While everyone else crowds onto a beach, grab your 19 (or 9) closest friends and take a ride in one of Fort Lauderdale’s most exclusive boats. You’ll enjoy a two-hour tour down the coastline and will see the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, plus breathtaking views of the skyline. It’s BYOB there, and as long as you’re 21, you can partake of beer or wine as you relax in the hot tub. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so be sure to book reservations in advance.

Fun Things to Do in Fort Lauderdale at Night
When the sun goes down, the city becomes even more vibrant. Go out and party at one of the following locations.
Elbo Room
The Elbo Room has been rocking the coast since 1938, and it’s still the number one night spot for Spring Breakers. The best part is that it’s right on the beach, but this is followed quickly by its cheap drink specials, blaring loud music, and dive-like atmosphere.
Backyard
Despite its innocuous-sounding name, Backyard boasts that it is “Fort Lauderdale’s #1 Party Destination.” To prove it, they’re holding four special Spring Break events on March 5, March 10, March 16, and March 23. Be sure to stop here if you’re looking for refreshing cocktails, ice cold beer, or spritzes.
YOLO
Are you looking for somewhere that has a lot of class? YOLO has exactly what you’re looking for! Leave lesser nightclub activities to those who wish to dance as if their pants were on fire. At YOLO, you’ll discover a snazzy destination that features indoor seating and an outdoor lounge with a fire pit.
Ft Lauderdale Spring Break Hotels
We know you probably won’t spend too much time in your hotel room. After all, the party in Fort Lauderdale never stops! Still, here are a couple of hotel recommendations for Spring Breakers in Fort Lauderdale.
Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club
This all-inclusive resort is currently the top-rated hotel in all of Fort Lauderdale, according to Trip Advisor. Perhaps that’s because they run their resort a bit differently. Here you’ll find an understated, gracious, and deferential experience. In other words, genuine hospitality meets a sophisticated retreat.
Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort
As the second-rated hotel in Fort Lauderdale, this all-inclusive resort offers easy access to the beach and has water-facing rooms. When you need some time to yourself, you can unwind in their spa or enjoy a private cabana.
Fort Lauderdale Spring Break Events
Of course, no one goes to Fort Lauderdale to spend all their time hanging out in a resort, no matter how many times they look up ‘where to stay in Fort Lauderdale for Spring Break.’ Instead, it’s the perfect excuse to party all week, and Fort Lauderdale offers plenty of opportunities to do exactly this!
LaPlaya Dayclub Spring Break 2023
LaPlaya Dayclub will keep the party rocking from February 25 – March 25. For as little as $30, you can get a pass that will allow you to drink from an open bar for five full hours! Or you can opt for the $50 all-day drink pass. Either way, you’re going to be having a fantastic time and feeling no pain! LaPlaya also features a series of epic DJs to keep your feet moving.
Club Euro
Club Euro offers the “best party experience” in Fort Lauderdale. With the area’s best DJs spinning Trap, Hip Hop, and Dancehall tunes, you’re never going to want to stop moving. This club will be open throughout Spring Break, and ladies can get in for free!
Spring Break Sessions @ Bahir Mar
Join Spring Break Sessions on March 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. to hear fantastic DJs spinning jams at the HighTide Rooftop Pool. This particular bash is sponsored by Nutrl Hard Seltzer, which means there will be specials on Nutrl’s drinks! You can find the Bahir Mar at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.
Things to Do on Spring Break in Florida
It’s clear that no matter where you go in Fort Lauderdale, you’re going to have a great time. Therefore, it’s truly up to you and your specific personality to pick the ideal spots to hang out.
We’d like to suggest going on the Hot Tub Boat Tour as one of your primary activities. This tour will take you away from the madness of the beaches for two hours and will allow you and up to 19 of your closest friends to see the Fort Lauderdale area from a very unique perspective. Take in the views of gorgeous mansions and yachts as you imbibe at a distance from the rest of the revelers. When you come back to shore, everyone who wasn’t invited on board will be green with envy!
